Beneficiaries in Andhra Pradesh state can apply to this scheme for cashless treatment in most of the Government & Private hospitals across the Andhra Pradesh state. Under this YSR Aarogyasri scheme, if the hospital treatment bill extends Rs 1000 then the treatment expenditure will be borne by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Budget of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

In the announcement of state Assembly budget held on 16th June 2020 at Velagapudi, Finance Minister B. Rajendranath Reddy announced budget of Rs 2,24,789.18 crore allocated for welfare schemes. By the financial year  of 2020-2021, Andhra Pradesh government running 21 welfare schemes. For the health sector, Rs 11,419 crores allotted in this budget.

Extension of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme – Scheme Benefits Extended to More Districts

Earlier YSR Aarogyasri Scheme was in the 7 districts of Andhra Pradesh. But now chief minister of Andhra Pradesh extended the scheme. According to this, the scheme is now applicable for remaining districts of Andhra Pradesh that is Srikakulam, East Godavari, Krishna, Nellore, Chittoor and Anantapur. Under this YSR Aarogyasri scheme, more than 1500 diseases are covered, from now onwards 234 more diseases also have been included in this Aarogyasri scheme. This Aarogyasri project was started in January in West Godavari district with 2059 medical ailments and 1059 procedures. Now the scheme was extended from July 16, 2020 by the pilot project of government of Andhra Pradesh. Six more districts namely Kadapa, Kurnool, Prakasam, Guntur, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam included in this scheme and medical ailments increased from 1059 to 2200 including cancer care services.

Objective of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

All we know, the main and only objective of YSR Arogyasri Scheme was to provide financial assistance for poor people of the Andhra Pradesh to pay their Medical fees and surgery expenses. With this scheme, we can expect that the death ratio of poor people in Andhra Pradesh will decline.

YSR Aarogya Sri Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant who have only less than 35 acres of land, including wet and dry land are eligible.
• Municipal property tax less than 3000 SFT (334 Sq. Yards) paying families eligible.
• For the Outsourcing, contract, part-time employees and sanitation workers whose annual income of over Rs 5 lakh are also eligible.
• Private sector employees working in the public sector also eligible.
• Applicant who has more than one car are not eligible.
• Income tax up to Rs 5 lakh  paying families are also eligible.

Changes Under YSR Aarogyasri Scheme & Revamp of YSR Aarogyasri Scheme

YSR Aarogyasri Scheme was launched earlier by CM of AP in his election campaign in 2017. Now in the year of 2020, Revamped version of the YSR aarogyasri Scheme was launched. In this new version of YSR Aarogyasari scheme has inclusion of hospitals made through which the more beneficiaries can avail the benefit. From now the YSR Aarogyasari benefit can be gain in the government hospitals of Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. Medical assistance will be provided to the patients whose hospital bills exceeding rupees 1000. More than 2000 diseases will be treated under this scheme. Aarogyasri health care trust will also be developed under this scheme.
