The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) recently issued a notification on Saturday, in Amaravati. The first phase elections going to conduct on 5th February 2021 as per the notification. Around 146 revenue mandals across 11 districts are coming under Gram panchayats in these first phase polls.

To conduct elections in smooth manner, the state government has to take the responsibility. But the state government not ready to conduct polls and it is against the SEC’s decision due to current scenario of Spread of Covid – 19. The AP State govt had moved to the High Court on this issue. But the high court granted the permission to conduct elections because of ongoing Covid-19 vaccination programme. The High court also observing that these elections are also important to the people.

On the decision of High court, the state govt not satisfied and filled case in supreme court. The SEC Chief N. Ramesh Kumar has stated that ” We will respect the supreme court decision and conduct the AP Local Body Elections according to guidelines of supreme court. Now the Phase 1 Election Notification has released. These Phase 1 elections will be going to organize in total 11 districts except Vijaya Nagaram and Prakasam districts. The election nominations are ready to accept from 25th January 2021. The polling will be starts from 5th February 2021. These elections are conducting depends on 2019 voters list, Because 2021 Voters list not yet prepared till now by the Panchayathi Raj. Below check the revised schedule of 1st Phase Election poll.
